Our Purpose
Our aim is to be a united progressive group of people working towards upholding our Islamic values, preserve our heritage, culture and positively interact and contribute towards the wider community.
Our Activities
- Organizing community gatherings to celebrate important achievements and occasions.
- Organising summer camps and activities for the community members.
- Organising sporting activities.
- Providing support and assistance during bereavement in the community.
- Organising Kids talent competition.
- Fund raising activities for the society and other charitable initiatives.
Our History
In 2005 immediately after the Asian Tsunami few members of the community got together to respond and help the people in need back home in Sri lanka. Soon on, we realized that although a relatively small migrant community based in Auckland that together we were able to make a difference to the people in need.
We realized the importance of having a organization focused on ensuring that our children in this new homeland remain in touch with their cultural heritage and family roots. Since then we have developed a programme of activities on a regular basis to ensure our future generations are able to realize these objectives.
